The Heritage School
'The Heritage School' is an English medium co-educational school and was established as 'The Doon Cultural Centre' in 1953 by Mr. John J. Sookias and Mrs. Maise Sookias. This great institute of learning is situated on New Road, Dehradun, in a large campus and with the most salubrious surroundings.
Initially the school specialized in educating children from class L.K.G. to class VII. In 1982 with the sheer demand for good quality education, The Heritage School sought and received affiliation with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination(ISC), New Delhi.
Just as an oyster is recognized by the pearl it bears and nurtures, so also a school acquires its reputation by the achievements of its students. Special effort is made to inculcate in students and all round development that takes care of their Educational, Emotional, Social, Cultural, Aesthetic, Physical and Spiritual needs. A State Of Art Computer laboratory with hi-tech computers enables our pupils to work on them on a one on one basis. Making our young mind techno savvy.
Sports is stressed on as a powerful extra-curricular to imbibe in students the feelings of sportsmanship, a competitive spirit and respect for fair play. As such the school organizes various Inter-House and Inter-School Tournaments in Football, Cricket, Hockey, Volleyball, Table-Tennis and Basketball. The school can boast of football fields and a basketball court that meets all standards. We also have a huge Auditorium for indoor and outdoor activities and sports. Our library is large, airy and spacious. Participation is also encouraged in Debates, Dramatics, Quiz, Elocution, Essay Writing and Painting. Our children of the L.K.G and K.G we call the infant community. They are our sunbeams, pure, blessed and gentle as the sunshine that falls upon our land and makes it divine. We shall endeavor to do our best for your children and we will expect whole hearted co-operation from you.
