Books?

In the future, will children know what books are? Plain books in paper. Will they remember them? Many think not, because the computer is taking slowly over our lives. Soon every thing will be connected to one big network they say. Personally I have doubts. Yes, the computer is becoming more and more part of our everyday life, but we will not stop printing books. I don’t think anybody prefers to read a novel on a computer screen. No, to have a solid book between your hands is still the best.

Schools for instance, will they Top school in Dehradun stop buying books for educational usage? Will they become dependent on the Internet, and other forms of information sources? If you need information about “wildlife in Africa”. Would you search the Net, and use an hour to sort out all the 3456667 documents it found? Or you could use an Encyclopedia to find it within a few minutes! This is only one example of things I’ve seen. I’m not saying that the Internet or computers are bad, or that schoolchildren shouldn’t use them, but that we must not forget about all the millions of books out there.

My second example is about the use of paper in books. Have you ever seen an business man sign a contract on a laptop? On a document that is saved on a computer? No, didn’t think so, and neither have I. They all use paper documents and other contracts, because they can use it as proof if something goes wrong. You can not edit paper documents without anybody noticing, as you can with a document on a computer. The PC will never tell…..

How often do you hear about bestsellers? I hear about it very often, and that’s because books sell. Some sell in millions and others a few hundred thousand. The book and publishing industry is booming. They have big profits, and they keep putting new and exiting books on the market. I once found a “book” on the Internet. You could download it on to your computer and then read or print it out. Who o n earth would print out a 500 page book? Not me, and I would not sit in front of my computer screen and read it! I like to have my books in my hand, and sit in my good chair, drink coffee and eat cookies. That’s how I like it, good and traditional. Perhaps my children will prefer to read a book or a novel on a screen, and that’s O.K, just as long they know what a real book is.

I’ve given you a few examples on why I don’t think books will disappear from the shelves. Yes, I really think they will stay in our homes, and create good times Schools in Dehradun for you and your children for a long time, and no one will ever forget them. What have made books so special? Why do we keep on buying them? I believe it’s because they let us escape to a world beyond our wildest dreams, and create new and exiting worlds for our children to explore. In a book you can become the “hero”, the Space Ace or the beautiful princess. That is, ladies and gentlemen, the reason I think books will survive our computerized society. Now you can go out and buy yourself a good book.

How do you measure success in life?

Reaching the top of the tree in one's chosen occupation or profession is the usual standard by which success in life is measured, at least in the Western world. However many Asians would reject this criterion. The contemplative religions assert that success Best Schools in Dehradun is only measurable in terms of religious advancement and of the acquisition of the virtues. Thus, success would be in inverse ratio to material advancement. Most of the world accepts the definition of material advancement, its objectives being affluence and perhaps power over others, both being the most important means of self-expression.
Some are born into positions which already confer affluence and power, so success to them might lie merely in the preservation of the family business or estate and perhaps its enhancement for the benefit of the next generation. Most people have to work hard to to achieve success.

Beyond a certain point the acquisition of money proves unsatisfactory. The difference between the lifestyle available to a millionaire and that available to a billionaire is marginal. Unhappily money making can become an obsession, and some very wealthy people become very mean. Other anxieties may be created when a large number of people become dependent on a financial empire. Money confers power which may corrupt.

However success is not strictly related to the externals of power, prominence and affluence, though these are often its attributes. It is more to do with happiness and fulfillment.
First, mental and spiritual peace. A satisfying yet balanced way of life makes for the former and a religion or at least a philosophy for the latter.  A successful life depends crucially on good personal relationships both within and outside the family. To ensure the well-being and happiness of others forms a large part of success. Perhaps the fundamental way to achieve success is first to be sure of what you want to do with life Best Schools in Dehradun and then to be sure that you are capable of doing it. Some people are strongly motivated to a profession or to politics or to social campaigning from early days; others have to find their own role in life by trial and error. Many of these careers will not confer much success in the worldly sense but they will lead to the success of happiness and fulfillment.

Physical Activities: Importance for Children

Kids this age need physical activity to build strength, coordination, and confidence — and to lay the groundwork for a healthy lifestyle. They're also gaining more control over how active they are.
School-age kids should have many chances to participate in a variety of activities, sports, and games that fit for their personality, ability, age, and interests. Brainstorm with your kids on activities that feel right. Most kids won't mind a daily dose of fitness as long as it's fun.

Physical activity guidelines for school-age kids recommend that each day they:
  • get 1 hour or more of moderate and vigorous physical activity on most or all days
  • participate in several bouts of physical activity of 15 minutes or more each day
  • avoid periods of inactivity of 2 hours or more unless sleeping

Fitness at Home

Here are some ways to keep your kids moving at home:
  • Make physical activity part of the daily routine. From household chores to an after-dinner walk, keep your family active every day.
  • Allow enough time for free play. Kids can burn more calories and have more fun when left to their own devices. Playing tag, riding bikes around the neighborhood, and building snowmen are fun and healthy.
  • Keep a variety of games and sports equipment on hand. It doesn't have to be expensive — an assortment of balls, hula-hoops, and jump ropes can keep kids busy for hours.
  • Be active together. It'll get you moving, and kids love to play with their parents.
  • Limit time spent in sedentary activities, such as watching TV, being online, and playing video games and games apps.
If you run out of possibilities at home, take advantage of local playgrounds and athletic fields. And remember: You'll help show your kids that exercise is important by regularly exercising yourself.

Fitness for Kids

Through physical activities, kids learn about sportsmanship, setting goals, meeting challenges, teamwork, and the value of practice. Keep in mind your child's age and developmental level, natural abilities, and interests.
It's OK if a child isn't interested in traditional sports, but it's important to find alternative ways to be active. Encourage a child who doesn't like soccer, basketball, or other team sports to explore other active options, like karate, fencing, golf, bicycling, skateboarding, and tennis.

Preventing Problems

Kids who participate in sports are at risk for injuries, so be sure yours wear the proper protective equipment, such as a helmet and protective pads when roller-blading. Kids who specialize in one sport are also at risk of overuse injuries, including stress fractures and joint injuries.
A child with a chronic health condition or disability should not be excluded from fitness activities. Some activities may need to be changed or adapted, and some may be too risky depending on the condition. Talk to your doctor about which activities are safe for your child.
Kids who enjoy sports and exercise tend to stay active throughout their lives. And staying fit can improve self-esteem, prevent obesity, and decrease the risk of serious illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease later in life.
If your child refuses to play or interact with peers, or complains of pain during activity, talk with your doctor.

Parents should monitor how we use the internet

The internet is an amazing resource of information and entertainment. It is also a forum in which people can communicate with one another from all over the world. Anyone can take part in online festivities. Even children can navigate the internet but that might not always be a good thing. Those with teenagers and youngsters need to remain aware of steps to promote child safety online. A child can confront a number of risks surfing the internet

1. Children place themselves and their parents at risk for cyber identity theft if they give out personal information online. There are many unethical people out there seeking to compromise other's identity. You do not want your children falling victim to such individuals.

2. Children do not realize how common cyber identity theft on Facebook is if you provide too many personal details about yourself. Parents need to help boost child safety by preventing the young ones from offering too much personal information in the context of their Facebook profile.

3. There are all manner of Trojans and viruses a child can accidentally download to a hard drive. Once these viruses and Trojans are inside your computer that can initiate all manner of identity theft actions. Your passwords could be compromised; your personal files and folders copied, and your keystrokes can be logged. Once this occurs, such information could be uploaded to another site where it will be effectively compromised by identity thieves. Parents need to be aware of the files children are downloading and if they are visiting sites where malicious Trojans are known to prey.

4. For older teens, there is always the potential for them to get involved with credit card scams. Child safety online does not stop at age 18. In fact, parents may need to be more diligent in monitoring internet usage to prevent any serious financial disasters the teen may get into.

5. Examine the history of the websites that your child is visiting. By taking this action it is possible to stay in the loop as far as knowing what type of websites your child is visiting and how often. Gaining access to this type of information makes it possible for you to discover any problems at their earliest inception and to avoid unpleasant surprises. There is internet monitoring software that allows you to do this with or without your children’s knowledge. However, this is an issue that every parent must take with their own children. However, it is worthy of noting that many employers now monitor the internet usage of employees and the caring role of a parent to their children is greater.

6. Internet stalking is a common problem teens and children will deal with. Those with Facebook profiles may very well find them at great risk for stalking. The most common form of stalking would be repeated emails and messages. However, if personal contact information is provided on the Facebook profile, stalking can escalate to phone calls and even visits to one's residence. To greatly increase child safety online, you need to reduce the potential for online stalking. That is a must.

7. Chat rooms (online communal instant messaging rooms) frequently remain the most potentially dangerous for adults and children. The reason for this is that it is easy to remain anonymous in a chat room. This opens the door to all manner of immoral characters to take advantage of the unsuspecting. Chat rooms are notorious for sexual predators which further adds to the danger of such rooms.

8. Chat rooms have grown into places where cyber identity theft is becoming a consistently serious problem. Those that wish to avoid having any member of the family's identity compromised needs to monitor chat room activity.

9. Cyber bullying is another issue that needs to be addressed when hoping to boost child safety online. Cyber bullying is really no different than traditional bullying. The main difference is that it utilizes the communicative nature of the internet to perform the bullying actions. The psychological impact remains the same.

10. It is never a good thing from a social perspective for a child to spend too much time online. Parents need to monitor their child's online activities if for no reason other than to prevent the child from becoming limited in his/her social interactions.

These ten reasons only scratch the surface of the subject child safety online. Regardless of the reason parents employ to keep children safe, the bottom line here is you do always need to keep the younger more inexperienced family members safe when they are surfing the net. Too much can go wrong if you do not.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao is an effective campaign to save the girl child and educate the girl child all over the India. It is a scheme run by the Government of India with the aim of spreading awareness as well as improving the efficiency of welfare services for the girls of India. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has started a Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (launched on 21st of January in 2015) under the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme. Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana was launched to support this scheme as well as make it successful by meeting the essential expenses of the girl child such as health, higher education and marriage.
This scheme is a good start for the girl child lives as it involves some effective efforts of the Government of India. It is a best scheme ever as it reduces the tension of parents as well as will save the lives of present and future born girls through this small investment on annual basis. This project was started with the initial amount of Rs. 100 crore. It is also reported that Ministry of Home Affairs will spent around Rs 150 crore over this scheme to assure women safety in large cities of India. This scheme has been planned and launched to reduce the level and effect of some dangerous social issues related to the girl child.
According to the census of 1991, the number of girl child (age group 0-6 years) in India was 945 per 1,000 boys. It was reduced to 927 girls/1,000 boys in 2001 and 918 girls/1,000 boys in 2011. Regarding this, India was ranked at 41st number country among 195 countries by the UNICEF in 2012. Such a huge level of decline in the number of girls was the indication of lack of women empowerment in the country. This huge reduction in girl child number was because of the pre-birth discrimination, gender biased sex selection, post birth gender inequality, crimes against women, etc social issues.
On the launch of this scheme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked to the public to eradicate female foeticide and follow the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme for the betterment of the girl child. This programme was launched by the PM on 22nd of January in 2015. It was first started from the Panipat, Haryana. The trend of ever declining child sex ratio in the country has given rise to the necessity of this programme. The objectives of this scheme are:
  • To ensure the survival, protection and higher education of the girl child.
  • To ensure empowerment of women through higher education and equal participation in all the working fields.
  • To prevent gender biased sex selective elimination of girl child.
  • To enhance the status of girl child all over India especially in the top 100 selected districts (low in CSR).
  • To bring Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Women and Child Development, and Ministry of Human Resource Development together to work conjointly for the welfare of girl child.

Why are books important?

Books are important for several reasons: they allow children and adults to learn and understand the alphabet, achieve a minimal standard of literacy and help people understand their roles in society.

Some books have characters that people can easily relate to, which allows them to gain a better understanding of their own emotions, including happiness, sorrow, anger and pleasure. Some books contain stories and information on areas that people are not familiar with, such as the sciences or a certain region of the world; reading literature on these elements allows people to have a better understanding of and appreciation for those topics.

Books are a valuable learning tool for individuals and academic institutions. Reading books on relevant subject areas studied in school, for instance, allows students to gain a better understanding and develop a deeper knowledge in subject areas that they are studying.
Reading books also enables students to sharpen and develop certain skills, such as reading comprehension, communication, phonetics and interpreting photographs. Students also use books as social tools to gain an understanding of and appreciation for people of other cultures, and may broaden their skills in dealing with others, such as by listening and being sensitive to the unique perspectives and world views offered by others.

Participation is more important than winning

If someone come across any competition then they should analyse their plus and minus on the given situation and somehow try to participate with the best part of them. If take the history of past, the runner or second or third top will be more popular than the topper of competition which clearly shows that winning at the moment has many reasons and hence one should not lose hope on the results of competition.

This attitude will surely win one day because of the consistency and hard work behind them. There are varieties of competitions nowadays either in school, college or even in media on music, dance, play for youngsters and even they are coming with various novel ideas for any age group, gender to make active participation.

Last but not least, media is giving boast with the prize or gifts but one need not bother about the end outcome but participate by all means which may fetch better results later.

There are many examples to add and best one is the great poet Bharathiyar in Tamil Nadu, who had not topped the competition but his fame is still there whereas we may not know about a person who came top.

So I request through this thread, participation is important in any competition and definitely any one will celebrate if winning also come.

Women Empowerment

Empowering women in India is very necessary to bring gender equality or we can say that gender equality is very necessary to empower women. Our country is still a developing country and economic status of our country is very bad because it is a male dominated country. Men (means half power of the country) are walking alone and they forced women to do only household works. They do not know that women are the half power of this country and combining to male can form full power of the country. The day when full power of the country would start working, no other country would be more powerful than the India. Men are not know how powerful Indian women are.
It is very necessary for all Indian men to understand the power of women and let them go ahead to make themselves independent and power of the family and country. Gender equality is the first step to bring women empowerment in India. Men should not understand that women are made only to handle household chores or take responsibility of home and family. Instead, both (men and women) are responsible for everything of daily routine. Men too need to understand their responsibility of home and family and all other works women do so that women can get some time to think about themselves and their career. There are so many laws for empowering women however none are effective and followed by people. There should be some effective and tight laws which can be followed by everyone. It is not the responsibility of our government only, it is the responsibility of each and every Indian. Every Indian need to change their mind towards women and strictly follow all the rules made for women empowerment.

Only rule can do nothing, it needs to understand the theme of rules, why rules are made, why women empowerment is so necessary for our country and other questions. It needs to think positively, it needs to change the way of our thinking about women. Women need to be given full freedom, it is their birth rights. Women too need to change their mindset that they are weak, anybody can cheat them or use them instead they need to think that they have same power like men and can do anything better than men. They can be physically powerful also by learning yoga, martial arts, kung fu, karate, etc as their safety measures. Women empowerment is the vital tool for advancing development in the country. It also would help in reducing poverty by improving health and productivity within families and communities as well as providing better chance to the next generation. There are many social issues making women backward in India such as gender based violence, reproductive health inequities, economic discrimination, harmful traditional practices, other pervasive and persistent forms of inequality.

Women are bearing enormous hardship from the ancient time in India. during and after humanitarian emergencies, especially armed conflicts. There are many private and government organisations and institutions supporting women empowerment, promoting policy making, promoting gender-sensitive data collection, improving women’s health awareness and expanding their independency in the life. Despite such supports and human rights, women are still dependent, poor, unhealthy and illiterate. We need to think the reasons behind and solve all on immediate basis.
